About

I’m not your stereotypical tarot reader—there are no dramatic gasps, no crystal balls erupting in smoke (budget cuts, obviously). But there’s absolutely no judgement if you arrive in floods of tears, with a hipflask and a slightly chaotic life story. What you will get is a professional tarot reading that’s grounded, honest, and hopefully useful.

I’ve had a pretty eclectic career. I was a journalist and news editor for many years – specialising in crime reporting, before moving into teaching. I’m now proud to call myself (and other people do, it’s official) Professor of Journalism Education, and work by day at the University of Sheffield. I’m also a mass-market novelist, so you could say story-telling is in my blood. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s ink in my veins. And that’s where tarot comes in.

I’ve heard just about every story imaginable and I’m very comfortable navigating life’s big themes—love, career, heartbreak, reinvention, and those “what am I doing with my life?” moments. All of that feeds directly into how I read tarot: with clarity, insight and understanding how the cards work together like a jigsaw to tell your story.

Tarot reading, though, isn’t something I just picked up—it runs in the women in both sides of my family. I inherited this gift from my great-grandma Harriet who read the cards herself – and my grandmother Annie, who was a tea leaf reader. I love to think they both guide me in every reading.

My approach to tarot is down to earth and practical. I don’t deal in fear tactics or vague predictions. Instead, I offer clear guidance to help you understand your situation—whether that’s love, relationships, career choices, or life direction.

Think of a reading with me as a conversation—with cards that occasionally call you out (gently… mostly). If you’re looking for an accurate, insightful tarot reading that blends intuition with real-world perspective (and a bit of humour), you’re in exactly the right place. I’d love to tell your story
